To submit an online application you must be a Canadian citizen.
Note: If you are under 19 years of age, or applying for a joint account, you can submit your application online. You must then visit a BMO branch to finalize the set-up and activation of your new account(s). You will be required to show valid identification at that time.
After submitting your application you will receive an e-mail confirmation detailing what you need to do in order to activate and begin using your new account(s).
Note: In order to activate your new account(s), you may be required to visit a branch. For customers who are asked to complete the account opening process in a branch, you will be able to do so on the next business day.

A Canadian residential address
An email address
A Social Insurance Number for each applicant if applying for a Savings account
